Ethereal Beauty

Ethereal Beauty is the collection I made in my final year at Fanshawe College in Canada.

My inspiration was the conflict between inner and outer beauty that is felt by young girls (and people in general). It's the issue of society telling you to value one over the other which is so detrimental to young girls. I designed the collection in all pink and to be hyper-feminine in silhouette and materials to therefore visually represent how society pushes girls to be feminine and to put more value on their appearance rather than their mind and their abilities. The meaning of my collection is very contradictory to how it looks and that's the entire point. Inner beauty is much more important than outer beauty; be yourself and nobody else.
